Retreat at Spring Lake

First of all, WHEN O'Brien gets elected...not if. We have to see to that.

Here's a quote from this week's This Week In PIckerington:

''O'Brien said the city is considering adding zoning classifications to its code, which would fall under one of the goals. He noted that much of the land on Diley Road is zoned residential; if it doesn't sell, he said, perhaps the city could discuss rezoning it for commercial or another use.''

What a concept! Why don't we nip at the heels of council until they consider rezoning the majority of the R-4 on Diley? Why hasn't the school board dogged them until they concede? Isn't this what the board is relying on in their student projections? Aren't they after the mythical ''1900 homes on Diley''? If council rezones to multiple classifications of commercial wouldn't all benefit?

If rezoning brings a lawsuit, so be it. Of all the lawsuits this current council has faced that they were handed by the last council, they haven't caused any of their own. This is one I could get behind. Take back the zoning and reshape that area of the city tro benefit the entire region.

Not Berry

Lisa,

The Spring Lake project is not going to be developed by Daryl Berry. Never was going to be, just another urban legend.

At the meetings this week, Rick Ricketts presented on behalf of Beazer.

Also, the development is a condo development with a density less than half the 10 per acre. You can get all the information from the minutes of the meeting.
