What frosts me is....
attitudes. My three kids have experienced much of the same thing although because of their age spread in different building and different teachers. So many of these teachers put in their 8 hours and go home. They have no more vested interest in my kid?’s education than the man in the moon. They have a set agenda, cover it and go home. Did the kids learn anything today? Who cares? My shift is over.
No single person outside my household has more of an impact on the development of my kids than their teachers. So I will always be as critical of their behavior as I am mine.
Now I am not accusing all teachers nor am I stereotyping them, but there are a lot who fit in this category. Ask a teacher that you know to care and go the extra mile and they will tell you about the others I described. They hate them too but they are tenured. What can anyone do?
Teacher?’s salaries and benefits are way out of scale with what the rest of us have to deal with. They need to be made to come down to earth and walk with us common folk for a while.
Now you know reason number 16 why I cannot and will not support any construction or operating levy this pathetic board throws at us. I know we need more space. I?’m not stupid, but until the board takes a look at the big picture of all the voters think is wrong and takes dramatic steps to fix it, I will continue to vote NO.
