Yesterday I went to the Victory Park to have some Lion's Club fish for a early dinner. Laying on the ground was a card board campaign Literature.
I am not familiar with paper weights but this literature and photo quality printing must have cost the Sabatino and Wright campaigns big bucks. Apparently in addition to this campaign flyer Mr. Sabatino was handing out free samples of coffee. Unfortunately who ever originally received this flyer they discarded the information and keep the coffee.
So was Mike Sabatino trying to buy votes here and impress the poor and the desperate with first he has money and second he is willing to buy their vote?
get this one folks: ''DIFFERENCES ON COUNCIL SPARK MEANINGFUL DEBATE.'' This is the kind of crap Mike wants us all to believe. Then there is this one: ''SABATINO AND WRIGHT ARE INDEPENDENT THINKERS.''
One issue they continue to fail to address is that both were first appointed. They were appointed by a corrupt group that ran our Pickerington City Hall for years and have place us all in a financial hole. The fact is that Mike and Bill were working hand and in the explosion of new homes along Diley Road in 2001 and 2002. Yet when it came to provide the infrastructure to allow these new people living in these NEW homes to get to work and for safety services to get to them in case of emergencies they decided to take a powder and spread rumor and lies about the Diley Road project. Part of what they didn't say was that they BOTH voted to spend over $1.5 Million for design of this Diley Road widening in 2003. See the 2003 minutes to your left in July of 2003. Contracts are on file at the city.
They freely admit they are NOT part of the Shaver Administration.
THIS IS PROBABLY THE ONLY PART I ACCEPT WITHOUT QUESTION.
By Enjoying the park

Shame on them
There were other things that were quite noticeable in the parade. Obviously Wright and Sabatino are campaigning together; their literature says so. But right after them came this Fix guy. Now I?’ve read a lot here about him and had some limited personal contact with him and I guess he was with them. Later in the parade came O?’Brien, Kramer, Hammond and Smith. It is obvious they are running together because they said so. So we have to choose from two factions seeking the 4 seats on council that will be open.
The first faction I mentioned above is obviously ethics-challenged. Sabatino has had several ethics charges filed against him and he also made yet another ethics violation recently at council by voting on an issue that he was clearly cautioned by their law director not to vote on. As to Wright, an issue was brought up in his last campaign 4 years ago that he used a picture paid for by the city for the Pickerington Communicator in his campaign literature. It is illegal to use city funds for campaigns. Guess what! That same picture is in this year?’s literature. Shame on you Bill. I know you know better. Also last time Wright never filed a pre-election report with the Board of Elections. Said he didn?’t receive or spend any money. Looking at your brochure yesterday, you can?’t make that claim again. Then there is the last of the three musketeers Fix. Fix met with Blackwell campaigners for at least a month or more pledging his support to them. Then, lo and behold, he turns up as Montgomery?’s county co-chair. A simple investigation revealed that he had already committed to Montgomery long before he started attending Blackwell strategy meetings as a mole. Shame, shame, shame. Did that gain you more political capital with Montgomery? I also understand that Fix is using his position in a local republican club and the county republican party to garner support for his council bid both in financial support and labor support. He is trying to force partisan politics and representation on this non-partisan race. Shame again. Lastly on this person, how can he run the Montgomery campaign and still dedicate enough time to Pickerington. After the council election, the governor?’s campaign will still be on and after the primary, it will still continue. Also there is the republican central committee race. How much time are you willing to give to Pickerington Fix? I read about Steve Davis, the county chairman supporting Fix in this endeavor. Shame. Now it appears Shaver is also in this up to his eyeballs in this mess by also getting on board with Fix, thus getting in bed with Wright, Sabatino, Lou Postage (Wright?’s treasurer) and Lee Gray, the Sabatino/Wright campaign manager. Shame on you too!! You should know better.
I haven?’t heard a lot about the second faction I mentioned above. Is this because they have kept their noses clean during this turmoil? Is this because they are more interested in ethical representation of the residents? Is this because they are not supported by Shaver? It looks like Sabatino?’s whole campaign platform has been ripped out from under him as obviously with no support by the infamous mayor, there will be no rubber stamping to come. So Sabatino is off the charts now. That leaves Wright and Fix. Both ethically challenged and at least one morally challenged. Scratch them off the ballot. We don?’t need more of the same old stuff this city has experienced before this new majority was established.

More shame
Shaver disappoints me the most. Here he had the opportunity to shine with a completion of the mission he undertook 4 years ago and solidified 2 years ago. In one fell swoop he tried to undo all the he helped accomplish ?– all in the name of politics and partisanship. We?’ll be left with Riggs, Hackworth and Wisniewski. I believe that this city needs to elect O?’Brien, Smith, Hammond and Kramer. That will build a strong council of people with similar goals and visions for the city that now you can be sure are no Shaver rubber stamp. That will assure us at least two more years of the progress we?’ve seen over the last two. Do I know Smith, Hammond and Kramer that well? No, not yet but I will be getting to know them soon. I am impressed with the stands on issues that O?’Brien has taken since his appointment. I think he was a good choice. Since Shaver has gone off on his own, it is time to look for a strong council. If O?’Brien trusts the other three on his slate enough to run with him, and I trust his judgement enough based on his actions to-date, then I will vote for them, too.
Sorry Mayor. You should have taken just a few more minutes to think before invoking partisanship in this city. You should have saved that for other races elsewhere in the county. You lost my support.
