I can't believe what I saw on the evening news last night. The National Teachers federation is protesting parents buying their child's schools supplies at Wal-Mart. They are concerned about child labor laws being violated in China (I guess).
Clearly our Teachers who should be at this moment preparing for their classroom activities in a couple of weeks are down in front of Columbus City Hall protesting Wal-Mart.
It is very apparent that our Teachers have far too much time on their hands and their needed outlet and escape from boredom is to do a little public protesting. At a time when virtually every school district in the state is complaining about funding these same teachers are trying to influence parents that can't support a school levy to spend even more of their money on higher priced school supplies.
Not all of us can afford the name brands for not only school clothes but the paper and other supplies needed for our kids school work. If the teachers union is so concerned maybe they should subsidize the parents from their union funds since they have run out of issues within their district to protest.
