My Children
My children are very happy and well adjusted despite public schools.
Between the three there are three master degrees and one PhD. All three are married.
They attended Columbus, Hamilton Township and Canal Winchester schools. During part of that time at Canal they had classes in hallways because of a shortage of natural gas and the school only had one building heated with electric.
The oldest was diabetic and missed months of elementary school class. The oldest and youngest struggled in High school advance math because of an idiot math teacher. I spent untold nights teaching my two daughter algebra and geometry. The oldest after missing so much school in her younger years graduated out of the 11 grade. She entered into the Ohio State pre-med college. However she fell in love and lift OSU for a boy at OU. The youngest is a very beautiful young woman. You may had seen her picture on the side of a can of gunk at a auto parks store. She has the long blond hair. Both girls were athletic and both held school records for a time.
My son did very well no matter what he faced. I very rarely had to help him with his school work.
After years of swim lessons they still couldn't swim. When my wife left from a Florida vacation early to attend to her ill father; daddy played the game of no holding no to the side of the pool or drown. Within hours they were swimming.
Now I certainly would like to take full credit for their success in life. However when they were young I traveled all the time. My wife was a stay at home mother and we never hired a baby sitter. She cooked evening meals every evening. The kids outside the home activities were limited. She was always there when they came home from school and was the needed security they had in life.
We all place so much weigh on what the schools do for us and not what is clearly our responsibly to our children. Most adults can teach their children their lessons if they have lousy teachers. Believe me had our share. The school building mean nothing in the over all picture of life and family.
I am glad you are not my child because I could not afford another college.
