In other business, Pickerington City Councilman Mitch O'Brien told the trustees that the city is planning to ''once and for all, fix all the traffic lights on (state Route) 256.''
The city hopes to end up with a system similar to Gahanna's -- ''one of the best traffic control systems in the state,'' he said.
O'Brien said Gahanna's is a ''fully integrated system'' in which ''they can do adjustments on the fly.''
He said the system also can self-adjust during special events and things such as Friday night football games -- times when traffic on certain roads increases.
Pickerington City Council's finance committee on Monday discussed drafting an ordinance that would authorize the city to borrow money for the endeavor.
