This is my first posting to this site. So far, I've been ''below the radar'' so to speak on this site, and I would like to introduce myself and let you all know what I stand for.

First, let me say that I am deeply humbled and awed that my fellow citizens of Pickerington had enough confidence in me to elect me to City Council. I will endeavor to live up to that confidence each day over the next four years.

Now for what I stand for:

1. I will not use a public forum to further a beef with another person. I will contact that person directly to try to resolve our differences personally.

2. I solicit input from all. My email address is on this posting and I will attempt to reply to all those who email me.

3. I reserve the right to respectfully disagree. This doesn't make us adversaries, we can still maintain a cordial, friendly and professional relationship.

4. I won't lie or try to hide my position. When asked to vote - I will vote. My word is my bond.

5. If I post another message on this site, it will have my name on it. I will never hide behind the ''annonymous'' in any posting.

Space prevents me from going into greater detail here. Thanks to all of those who supported and voted for me. For those who didn't, you deserve no less respect and the same representation as those who did. I have no special interest groups other than our seniors. They have a special place in my heart and will work to make sure that they have a voice on council.

I do not check this site very often due to the many annonymous postings. Please use my email address if you expect a reply from me.

Again thanks to all. I will be spending the next month and a half getting up to speed on the issues and getting ready to hit the ground running come Jan 1st.

Tough road ahead

Congratulations on your election. Although I could not vote in the race, it is good to see new blood get through again.

As for the poster(s) who made their anti-Fix sentiments known on this site, I hope that whatever he does while on council meets with your approval; it is easy to criticize but harder to say ''good job'' if he does something you agree with. I only hope those who opposed him here can at least wish him and council the best wishes for the upcoming year.

Mr. Smith, you have a tough road ahead, as you know. A good start was made last election, as I view most progress for the city equal to progress for the twp when it occurs. I hope you and all members vote their conscience in tough matters, and are able to explain your votes pro/con with honesty and integrity. That may be old-fashioned thinking, but I still have a belief that if we elect good people, good results will follow.
