Can't vouch for Jeff . . .
I don't know Jeff Fix and am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on his new position on City Council. I hope he'll work with the current majority to continue to control growth in the city. I give him credit for running for council. I can't say as much for all the BOE blasters - not a single person put their money where their mouth is and ran as a candidate for the BOE. It's a thankless job that requires board members to put a lot of their time into educating themselves and making the best decisions for this school district. Obviously, a lot of people are willing to complain about these decisions but no one (other than the incumbents) was will to step up to the plate and take on the job (and the criticism) for themselves. As for Lisa, I'd vote for her again in a heartbeat. Given that she has a child at Pick Elem and at Diley, she's very much in tune with what's going on at the schools. And, from what I've seen, she's making decisions that make sense (after researching), rather than just doing what was done in the past. I don't know where you're getting your information on her performance, but I personally believe she deserves a lot of credit for the job she's done as a school board member. With every decision made and change invoked, someone is going to be unhappy. I truly believe this current board is listening to the community, the administration, and the experts, and then making informed decisions that they believe are in the best interests of this school district. Certainly none of these board members are out for personal gain and they don't get paid enough for all the bad mouthing they take. Just my thoughts.
