Packet problems

Packets usually come out on Friday which would/should give a council member adequate time to notice that all the necessary materials were not included and ask for them, especially a copy of a budget which was to be voted upon.It would also give a council member time to contact the office to get further explanation. I am not saying the budget is O.K. as it would seem that there should be some debt reduction. Maybe there is another budgeted item which should be delayed to pay upon a debt. It could be that one or more of the TIF's is not paying for itself, leaving the monies to come from the General Fund for interest, etc.

Steady councilmen. It is apparent that some of these postings are coming from councilmen. Let me tell you something that I heard from a best friend of a councilman last year. There are more than just Java Boy who don't read their packets until the Tuesday after they receive them at 7:30. Don't kid yourself. If this current council was asked 10 questions from events that transpired over the last year I bet that only 4 could answer part and three could answer all.

Get this straight - there are more than one or two elected officials who don't have a clue what is going on around them. Now you got one or two who know exactly what is going on and hell's bells, you got the uninformed making the most noise.

As posted somewhere below, voters generally get the government they deserve. Enjoy your new council. I have no doubt they will be entertaining, to say the least.
