This year, the program committee of the Pawtucket Arts Festival has worked extremely hard. With the desire to grow the festival and bring a quality event to the community - this year promises to be a festival with something to do for everyone over a three-week span.
Some of our highlights include: July 21 - Pre-Festival Event with Bob Dylan/Willie Nelson/John Cougar Mellancamp coming to McCoy Stadium! Tickets are still available at $77.50 for the evening - gates open at 5:30pm. This year, Pawtucket's Greek Festival will join our line up on August 14/15/16. Our ever popular "Taste of Pawtucket"/openinng gala - on August 28 - $10 per person gets you in to music with Slippery Sneakers/CJ Chenier, plus food from Pawtucket's finest restaurants. August 29: - Dragonboat races, RI Antiques Mall, Franophone (French Festival) and Mixed Magic Theatre. August 30: - Slater Mill Labor and Ethnic Festival, Antique Car Exhibit, Mixed Magic Theatre, RI Antiques Mall. Sept. 4-13 - Pawtucket International Film Festival; Sept. 5: Aurea at St. Paul's Church. Sept. 6: Preservation Society Walking Tour, Rocktucket '09. Sept. 9: - Gamm Theatre - free performance! Sept. 10: Pawtucket Library - (old Pawtucket movies!). Sept. 11: Community Players - $10 "Kitchen Witches". Sept. 12: Boys & Girls Club "Battle of the Bands", Stone Soup Folk Festival/Arts Festival in Slater Park, RI Watercolor Society "Paint Out RI", RI Philharmonic "Pops in the Park". Sept. 13: Stone Soup Folk Festival/Arts Festival in Slater Park, City of Pawtucket Photo Contest Awards, Community Players "Kitchen Witches", RI Watercolor Society presents "Eyes that Speak".
