I would like any information on our neighborhood history. If you have any old stories about our neighborhood I would love to hear them. I have lived here since 1975 and I have a lot of memories of the old stores on Nogalitos Street. Would you like to share a memory?

YES, I REMEMBER
DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN GYRO'S WAS A DRIVE-IN AND GLADYS WAS THE CAR-HOP. SHE HAD THE REDDEST HAIR. WE USE TO GO THERE AFTER THE BURBANK FOOTBALL GAMES. THE CHEERLEADERS USED TO DO CHEERS UP ON THE TELEPHONE BOOTH THAT WAS THERE ON THE END OF THE DRIVE WAY BY DIANE'S HAIR SALON. MY HUSBAND WANT TO KNOW IF YOU REMEMBER THE POST OFFICE THAT WAS ON TAFT.ON THE CORNER OF TAFT AND GARLAND HE THINKS.HE ALSO REMEMBERS THE ''SELVES'' HAMBURGERS THAT WAS ON NOGALITOS. HE REMEMBERS HIS DAD BRINGING THEM HOME ON WEDNESDAY'S WHEN THEY WERE TEN FOR A DOLLAR.

yes, i do remember
I do remember Gyro's as a drive-in,mmm I loved the ''satelites'' and the onion rings. I remember Gladys and I often wondered how she could remember all the different customers. The rest I don't remember, Ask your husband where was that hamburger joint?

Mr. Brown's Store
I've lived in the Palm Heights area all my life except for 10 years when I moved to the northside.
On the corner of Taft/Charlotte used to be a grocery store called Mr. Brown's. There was a picture of a cow painted on the front of the store. My mother always used to send my sister and me to the store. Now, it's someone's home. I still call it Mr. Brown's store.
