Are you unknowingly inviting a thief ?
District One - Crime Prevention as well as Patrol Zone Units driving through many communities in your area would like to share with you a common troubling observation…
Too many open garage doors ! You may think that this is not a crime prevention problem, but it truly is. Most “casual burglars” operate and depend on open opportunities, and that is exactly what you are doing when you leave your garage door open.
Not only are you advertising the material possessions you have in your garage, you could potentially give access into your entire home. Please keep in mind the following tips below.
Only keep your garage door open, when you are in it.
Keep a written record of all model numbers and serial numbers of your possessions.
Keep vehicle doors and windows locked & valuables out of sight.
If you would like additional information or crime prevention tips please call District One - Crime Prevention Unit – 354-6692.
