If you live in Black Forest Estates chances are you have received an offer from Redsky Land LLC to lease your mineral rights. What they plan is to drill deep wells on or near your property in order to pump millions of gallons of water mixed with a toxic mix of chemicals including diesel oil, benzine and other chemicals they refuse to disclose. This toxic brew will be injected at high pressure in order to fracture the rock shale formation under our properties in order to extract natural gas. This process which is called fracking has been shown in several cases to pollute the aquifer above the fracking site, thus making it necessary for well owners to truck in water because their wells are polluted.

Now some folks might jump at the chance to make a quick couple of bucks by signing the lease but you might want to think of the decreased property value if our aquifer is polluted or the fact that a seller would have to disclose to a potential buyer that the property sits on top of millions of gallons of water tainted mixed with toxic chemicals. To read what has been published about fracking in the Denver Post just go to Denver Post.com and enter fracking in the search box.

According to Gov Hickenlooper it is inconceivable that a fracture well could pollute well water. Now we learn that after 3 years of homeowners complaints of fouled wells in Wyoming the EPA has found that water wells have been contaminated with benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes and gasoline organics.

Once these chemicals are pumped into the earth they cannot be cleaned up and  will be there forever. What kind of damages are we doing to our planet in order to create a few years of economic growth and add to the profits of oil and gas companies who already have profits in the billions every month.

The good news is even if you do not sign a lease to allow fracking under your property they can still do it under what is known as forced pooling. Don't believe it? Google it.
