black & white cat on hickory

Posted in: Greenshire
Once again we are tearing out plants and flowers in OUR YARD because our neighbors will not keep their cat inside. It sits in our beds all day and then we get to pull out new plants. We have given up on trying to keep anything alive in there. Is their anything we can do about this pesky cat? Why do cat owners think rules don't apply to them? We keep our dog inside and if we take the dog out, ishe is ALWAYS on a leash and if she gets loose, we retrieve her immediately.

We have the same problem with this same cat. Dee, can anything be done?

Loose cats

It's sad that there are irresponsible cat owners that don't seem to have any regard for their cat's safety, or the effect a loose cat has on neighbors. Having a cat urinate and defacate in flower beds is worse than dog owners that don't clean up after their dogs. Not only do plants need replaced (a financial burden) but neighbors have to work in the mulch or flower bed, which is a health problem for some. I plan to meet with the Schertz Health Officer and Animal Control Officer and see if we can't find a solution to the problem, especially one that won't cost a neighbor money, even if it's just a deposit. I will post an update when I have it, and also include it in the next Greenshire Gazette.
