Water Pooling

Posted in: Wynnpage
Jamie of Coppell's Streets Dept. has processed another request for survey of the water pooling at the alley on Wynnpage. This should be done within the next few days. Please note however that Jamie advised that Coppell doesn't have much of a budget for street repairs, particularly neighborhood street repairs. If they can patch it, they probably will, but we aren't to hope for much more than that.
Worst case, for mosquito concerns, contact Environmental Health at 972-304-3500.

We need to be the squeeky wheel!

Thanks Marry Ann for you proactive work in contacting the city on the water pooling problem. I do not buy their comments that they do not have budgeted money for street repairs since this is part of the cities responsibility. I am really not supportive of any "quick fixes" or "patches". I feel we need a permanent solution that is "done right the first time." If the city can not commit do doing a quality job at this time, I would like to know when they can. I would be happy to have this issue added to the Landscape committee's charter. We will be meeting to formulate our mission statement and develop our preliminary plans, after the July 4th holiday.

Street Repairs/Neighborhood

It took three years to get our sidewalk fixed by the City. It was patched about a year before the City permanently fixed it.

Glen, I support your recommendation that the Landscape Committee take this issue on if your interest is that strong. THANKS!
Let me correct a possible misunderstanding though. It's not that the city does not have a budget, it is that the budget for streets repair is limited, like any other budget line. Neighborhood street repairs will always take a lower priority than city streets.
Believe me, when it comes to stuff like this, Nancy is a squeaky wheel and look how long it took her. Let's wait until we hear what their plans for the repair are, and when, until we become too squeaky.
