Hello Everyone,
I am Angela. I am very been living in St. Petersburg for almost 3 months now...
I made a sudden move from Japan where I've been for many years working as a ESL teacher. I am still adjusting to life in America, within Jungle Prada & Jungle Terrace areas; although I grewup in NYS. I love to see the changing seasons and nature. I love art and I practice woodblock cutting/printing. At the moment, that's all on a hold until am settle here... I studied for both my B.F.A and M.F.A in NYS, so I hope you all can still relate to my love of art and NYS. Nothing against St. Petersburg, I've also grown to like it here. I do drive but I am currently without a car and so I ride a bike to get around the neighborhood. I love the area alot but I can't stand the hot/humidty here. This is something I still need to adapt to...
Anyway, it's been a struggle to find my way around town and to make friends here. I can Japanese and would welcome the opportunity to practice my language skills with my neighbors. I can also speak a little mandarin but I still need to work on my Chinese language skills a lot more than my Japanese. I am also in the process of seeking employment and networking. I have lots of ideas for possible neighborhood/ community events but this will take some time to share and gain interest of my neighbors. I am a very friendly and socialable person and I would love to meet local people. I hope that at some point in the near future, we will be able to meet in person and greet each in a friendly environment. Please feel free to respond to my post at your convenience. Also, keep in mind that I am a newbie and I don't know the in's and out's of the neighborhood, your advice is welcome...
