Neighborhood Improvement Program - Part III

Contribution from neighborhood (money/materials/labor):

Neighborhood residents will perform all labor necessary to dig the foundation for the sign. They will mix the concrete for the foundation, set the sign, and finish the slab. They will dig the trench for the wiring; install the flood light and wiring and backfill the trench. They will do the utility locating and site clean up. They will coat stone with graffiti resistant sealer. We estimate non-skilled man hours to be 38 hours and skilled man hours at 25 hours.

The neighbors will use their own labor, tools, and equipment to thin, clear, and groom the four acres of flood holding areas. They will load the city trucks and some private vehicles to haul away debris.

Any tree that is transplanted will be watered by the pocket park sub committee members until they are big enough to thrive on their own.

We will attempt to repair and clean the drains to the best of our ability. We estimate skilled labor at 336 hours and non-skilled labor at 928 hours.

What kind of maintenance this project will need :

The flood light has an 18w lamp and estimated annual cost of $7.78. The bulb is good for 10,000 hours, cost $7.97, and will be replaced by the neighborhood group. The sign will be kept graffiti free by the neighborhood graffiti eradication committee.

The flood holding area and adjacent bike path will be cleaned by the neighborhood bi-annually during the neighborhood trash clean up days. Once a year several members of the neighborhood group will maintain the flood holding area, keeping it nicely groomed and safely trimmed.
