Community Eyewatchers~PLEASE KEEP YOUR EYES OUT!!!!!
On Wednesday, October 21st I received a message that my neighbors truck had been broken into at some point that night. We live on 70th Court E within Parkside.
Aparently the owner of the vehicle left his doors unlocked (a college student) so the point of entry was made easy for the theifs. However....although it was unlocked...they still broke his lock. They stole a very expensive stereo "system" and his wallet containing all of his personal belongings as well as $200 within it.
They filed a police report and they were able to get many palm prints. Please note that all of the palm prints were different, which leads us to speculate their are a few people in the group.
Although it's not smart to leave your doors unlocked, it shows us they are still "IN" our neighborhood in the middle of the night. They have frequented here MANY times and clearly are not scared. I may sound crazy.....but any chance we could form a night watch in addition to the daytime? I know we would want to be safe about it....but even a few eyes out a window from within during the wee hours on a "buddy" night shift?? Also...if I remember correctly, it was this time last year all the cars were getting hit over and over. Not to mention....Christmas is around the corner and the theifs will work harder!! Just a suggestion. Thanks! Gina
