Why the name Parkway Village East Neighborhood Watch?

Parkway Village, as a defined section of Memphis, has different boundaries to different people.

There is no clear definition of what constitutes Parkway Village. To most it encompasses the area bounded by Getwell on the west and Mendenhall on the east, while I-240 and Winchester are the northern and southern bounderies respectively.

To others the southern boundary is Knight Arnold and the western boundary has been pushed by some to include everything east of Lamar.

The name was chosen to accurately reflect whcih corner of PV we are located in geographically.

Who lives here?

The PVENW neighborhood reflects the racial, ethnic, and religious diversity of Greater Memphis and is likely one of the least segregated communities in the Memphis area.

About our association

Who We Are

Parkway Village East Neighborhood Watch is a group of concerned residents determined to rescue our neighborhood from the criminal element which has been active in our area. Fed up with drug dealers, gangs, burglars, etc., we are determined to drive this element away and make our corner of Parkway Vilage one of the safest and most enjoyable neighborhoods in which to live.

Our group is made up of homeowners and renters alike who desire a better quality of life in our neighborhood.

The neighborhood watch encompasses an area comprised of about 790 households.

Within this area there are three churches:

Greater Middle Baptist Church located at 4982 Knight Arnold

Memphis Christian Center at 5221 Cottonwood

and Living Water Church at 4790 Knight Arnold

Our area is also home to the Watt Dhamma Raingsei Buddhist Temple of Memphis located at 5111 Bryndale.

While the Memphis Police Department does a fine job, they CANNOT be everywhere and it is OUR responsibility to make our neighborhood safe by making it a VERY unwelcoming place for criminals. We can do that ONLY by looking out for each other through an active, vibrant, well organized Neighborhood Watch.
