My name is Terry Center, President of the Leon Creek Greenbelt Coalition. . The Leon Creek Greenbelt Coalition (LCGC) and the Volkssport Walking Club of San Antonio are planning the next annual 10K fall walk to be held on Saturday, morning December 11th. The last two walks were a great success and the veteran 'Volkssporters' and hikers are looking forward to the one as well.
. The 10K Walk starts at O.P. Schnabel Park continues through the trails in the Greenway, under the Prue Road bridge to the Babcock Road bridge and back to O.P. Schnabel.
We would like to use the trail in the ParkWood Park for the portion of the route that passes by your neighborhood because the trail in the creek bed tends to disapear in that area. The terrain is large, loose rocks, making it very rough even on the experienced Volks-walkers.

I would also like to invite you to attend the next meeting of the Leon Creek Greenbelt Coalition meeting on Thursday, October 7 at the Leon Vista Park HQ at 8561 Rochelle, 6:30 p.m. The Coalition's goal is to bring neighborhoods adjacent to Leon Creek together to share our common interests in the Leon Creek Greenway Linear Park. We are in contact with other organizations associated with environmental interests and recreational uses of the Greenway. Neighborhood groups Working together with the City of San Antonio has proven to be quite productive in Greenway developments.
