In an email sent April 1, 2007:
To the Board of Directors:

As a resident who among many others asked for a community center/club house to be built, we all thank you for your efforts to accomplish this long awaited addition to our community and hopefully it will be a star-studded asset to our community life.

The contract you negotiated for $290K in April 2005 with a scheduled completion of about November 2005, is now 16 months ago.
On the www.Parkwood-SA.org web site, the association's official web site, there is mention of an August 2006 opening.
The October 2006 newsletter indicates ''There are approximately two days of work on the center left, and then the landscaping can begin. Once we have the certificate of occupancy, the center will be ready.''
The February 2007 newsletter is silent about the center.
The center today appears not ready, not ready for use, and lacks landscape.
What is the status of the center?

The Board should prepare a written report to the membership explaining in detail what the Board has done with this project, from the start of design, to redesign, contracting, construction, problems/issues, resolution, and future financial reserves planning/management.
What is the Board doing?

All of this information should be presented post haste to the membership in the next newsletter and also at the next meeting of the Board open to the membership.
When will the next newsletter containing this information be published?
When and where is the next meeting?

Please supply me as soon as possible your responses to these questions which I will post, along with this email, at the
www.Neighborhoodlink.com/sat/parkwood web site:

What amount of money has been spent thus far on this project and what remains to be spent to open the center?
What is wrong with the community center today?
What exactly remains to be accomplished to open the center?
--- What is the resolution of the boarded windows?
--- What is the landscape plan/design to be implemented?
--- What work remains beyond window treatment for the center to be ready?
--- What is the sequence of activities for the city to grant a certificate of occupancy?
--- What responsibilities remain for the contractor?
Who is doing what to accomplish the activities requisite for the opening?
What is the forecasted schedule for these activities and the ultimate the opening?
What is the management plan for operating the center once it is opened?

1254 Parkwood households await your timely, accurate, and complete responses.

Thank you,

Mike McCormack

How do you know we are not.

we are smarter than that!

because we know your not ready. If i was to bring anyone from another neighborhood they would say how come this building was already abanoned? It looks terrible and seems like all your neighbors are a little upset you would agree to spend their money in such an unwise way espically when they look at what they have to show for a 1/4 of a million dollars was spent on!! Before you attempt to answer you may want to get the facts being asked not just smart comments!
