We are in the ''planning year'' of our PPH initiative health grant. The grant can be funded for up to 4 years.

Jan 31, 2001, we need to turn in our ''Action Plan'' for the following years.

The initiative defines ''health'' very broadly; it can include anything that affects health and well being.

This can include things such as traffic, noise, lighting, landscaping, grafitti, insurance, gardens, rodents, lead, asbestos, alcohol, drugs, volgar language, lack of jobs, under-paid jobs, education, vacinations, communicable diseases, air quality, water quality, sidewalk repair, handicap ramps, overhead power wires, public transportation, access to doctors/nurses, diet, parks, play areas, family dynamics, violence, gun control, security, burgulary, store access, language barriers, stray animals, junk, litter, etc.

You name it - what are the most important health issues for you and your household? What should we concentrate the next few years on? What will make the most difference to you and our neighborhood?
