Super Target at 101st/mem NO!

Posted in: Ridge Pointe
As opposed to a light retail use at 101st/Mem the rumor is SUPER TARGET is coming to that location. This is bad bad bad and we need to get together as a neighborhood to stop it. Super Target is 24 hrs and the traffic will be horrendous.

I'm for the Target, SO LONG AS

it results in our neighborhood gaining gated access. I realize the west entrance might not be so attractive, what with a giant Target back wall facing said entrance, but the west entrance already is having something being built by the Toyota dealership directly on the corner of the neighborhood. I realize the traffic issues that come w/ a monstosity the size of a S'Target and the desire for people to cut thru our neighborhood; however, if we receive gating then I'll not be so concerned.
Furthermore, having moved to Tulsa from Boston, the extra traffic at 101st & Memorial--derived from a S'Target--would still seem like low-traffic--a veritable paradise if you will--as compared to the east coast.

I agree with the gate. Actually the best solution would be to have a gate between Ridge Pointe and Cedar Ridge...but that won't happen. So a gate at the E 98th st entrance would suffice and we keep the 87th E ave. entrance open but with a central divider to slow the incoming traffic just like the HOA proposed.
asking for gates now is..

Defeatist. Fortunately this is not Boston this is Tulsa. The building that Jim Norton is building is much more compatible and low traffic than what Target will bring. If you saw the previous proposal for this site you would be furious over this one.
