Education and Costs

Posted in: NAP- Neighborhood Alliance of Pawtucket
Interesting presentation by Mayor of Cumberland at the Pawtucket Foundation breakfast. Hopefully others will join in the discussion and support and changes to make this a viable opportunity to show RI as a model of best use of dollars for performance, effectiveness and containment for our youth and their future contribution to Pawtucket and other partners. I wo;; post added data in the other pages for your review.

Anything would help

Most of the people in the system here just don't care and push thru our kids without the proper education.

Pawt., Cumb., C.F.same cash woes

Mayors Doyle of Pawtucket, Mayor Charles Moreau of Central Falls and Mayor McKee of Cumberland have the same school education money problems. How do you keep up with costs when student population in these districts has been rising since 1995? For example, as soon as Central Falls and Cumberland built or remodel new schools, they are overcrowded in one year. Pawtucket has not built a new school building since Curvin-McCabe 30 years ago. How about regionalizing school districts for efficiency in purchasing? Better yet, a common state tax should be imposed by the General Assembly with the money going to the districts in desperate need? What do you think, neighbors?
