Out to pick up my mail the other day and I noticed someones dog had made a rather generous deposit directly in front of my mailbox. Now don't get me wrong here, I am the owner of two rather large dogs and am very much aware of what volume they can produce within a short period of time. Our back yard is a constant source of waste management. The key term here is "waste management", if you walk your dog through our neighborhood, be prepared to pick up your dog's waste and dispose of it in a proper manner, do not leave it in your neighbors lawn. Be responsible, your dog is your responsiblity not your neighbors.

Sometimes I think people may not clean up after their dogs because they don't know of a discrete way to do this. I have had lots of practice with my 2 large dogs. I carry zip lock gallon bags and also the plastic grocery bags in a waistpack. I turn the zip lock bag inside out and use it like a glove, to pick up deposit, turn it right side in and zip lock it. Then I use the grocery bag as a glove and pick up the zip lock bag and turn it inside out and twist it. Then I put the bag in my waist pack that I use only for this. At least I don't have to walk around swinging the doggy bag in the breeze for rest of my walk. I saw a lady in a campground use the doggy bag/waistpack method and I thought it seemed like the best option so far. It keeps me humble. the best option I've seen yet. |
