Scottsdale airport noise meeting

Posted in: Kierland
Dear District 2 residents,

As you may know, Scottsdale Airpark noise impacts residents in both the City of Phoenix and the City of Scottsdale. On Thursday, August 5th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM there will be a public meeting to gather feedback from the community on ways to address noise concerns and update the airport?’s 14 CFR Part 150 Noise Compatibility Study. This study looks at the airport?’s current efforts to reduce noise, examines where and how much noise aircraft using the airport generates, as well as evaluates the effectiveness of potential new noise reduction techniques. The meeting will be held at the Scottsdale Airport Terminal Building, located at 15000 N. Airport Drive. It will be conducted in an open house format, so residents interested in providing their input can drop in anytime during the meeting hours. Representatives from the City of Scottsdale, the FAA, and Coffman Associates will be available to answer questions from the community. If you are unable to attend but would like to provide feedback, you can do so by logging onto the website www.coffmanassociates.com.

I highly encourage you to attend next Thursday and learn more about how airport noise may affect your neighborhood. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please contact my office at (602) 262-7445.

Sincerely,

Peggy Neely
Councilwoman
District 2
