The DVUSD Governing Board met in a work session to study the issue of closing DVMS and converting the DVMS feeder schools into K-8 schools. In November, the Board asked the administration to compile information and assess implications both educationally and operationally.

At the conclusion of the presentation, the Board asked District Administration to bring back additional information as it is developed over the next 2-3 months including looking at magnet programs.

In an effort to put rumors to rest and to quell parent and community concerns, it is evident that we will not be closing DVMS next year. Any changes that may be proposed will be presented widely for parent, staff, student, and community input
