Help!!!

Any pool owners with advice on backflushing the filter? I don't mean how - but where? I've seen people flush into the street and onto the golf course but I believe these are no-nos. I understand there is a way to flush directly into the sewer lines. Any ideas??

Filter Backwashing

There is a correct way to Backwash your filter, but it involves having enough hose to get to the front of your home, to the capped sewer lines in front of your house. These capped cleanout ports can usually be found right in front of your building, in the landscaped areas.
the closest to the home is actually angled underground to the street, and the one furthest from the home is directed into the residence. You can uncap the correct one and backwash into there. That is the "proper way".

Re: Backwash into sewer lines

I'm not sure, but I've heard that some cities do not want pool owners backwashing into sewer lines, I'm not sure why, you may want to check with the City before you start the practice.

We purchased a cartridge filter for our pool to avoid the backwash issue.
