Amend CC&Rs

Weeds

Amanda,

I know for a fact that the neighbors are getting letters about their weeds, because you will see all the offenders out there pulling there weeds, about the same time. If someone on your street, is not listening, I have a little bit of advice for you. The city has an ordinance against weeds. Apparently, they can be considered a fire danger. They can even fine a home, up to $2,500. If someone on your street is blatenly ignoring the HOA letters, maybe a letter from the city, would motivate him.

As for the board amending the CC&R's, this board is very open to listening to the residents, go to a meeting and let them know what you think, you might be surprised.

I dare to differ....

Beth, I do have children, but would never let them play in the street. Street are for cars. I agree that the size of property that we are forced to live on these days is too small for most youth activities, but that is what our parks and ''green belt'' are for. All homes in our community are a short walk from the ''green belt'' so I don't feel that is a valid excuse. Also, you may watch your children, but the parents in my particular part of the community do not. My wife and I have seen one child in particular nearly get hit, not once but twice. This child is under 6 years old and was not supervised in both incidences. I've had older kids on bikes actually challenge me (play ''chicken''). I've had kids NOT move completely off the road as I'm trying to get home, they just move to one side of the street. It makes driving very unnerving.

I agree that we need signs and even speed bumps in some areas. But unless something is done soon, between the speeders, kids playing in the street and cars parked on the side of the road, our worst fears are going to happen.

Kids in street

I have just read your letter.....if there is a parent with the children 99% of the time...why not take the children to the greenbelt and playground areas? Would you allow your children to play on Grand and expect the city to put up a sign? The streets are not meant as a playground. Parenting is a huge responsibility...why not tell your children they shouldn't play in the street because it is dangerous. I agree that speeding is wrong, but I also feel that children should not play in the streets.
