HOA issues

Posted in: W Point Towne Center
hi, let me say i am quite disappointed in my home purchase here. it seems the HOA is more interested in the placement of my trash can ( i have 18 mos old twins, do you want those stinkies in YOUR garage or backyard)then the common areas. my neighbors also have small children, no one complains about outside trashcans, we all understand about the SMELL and garbage collection is a UTILITY so they are kept by the UTILITY box. as for the car parking, again i bought the house, i dont see the HOA paying my mortgage so what i do on MY LAND is MY business, also if i want to install a play-yard in the backyard i do not intend on getting anyones approval... this house and land is for LIVING IN, this is AMERICA LAND OF THE FREE, the constitution clearly states '' life liberty and pursuit of happiness'' i see the HOA denying us all three of these civil liberties. Maybe the HOA needs to be a bit more concerned about the COMMON AREAS ( playgrounds, or lack there of) with small children the lack of playgrounds is a major problem, as well as the broken equipment, should my children get hurt the HOA would be liable. Ive had my house on the market 2 seperate times, only to have interested buyers but NO ONE who wants to deal with the awful HOA in here. Thank you for decreasing my home value and STOP WORRYING ABOUT MY TRASH CAN. if you like i can give you 3-4 days worth of diapers in YOUR garage in 115 degree heat...

thank you
HOA issues

I am curious...when you bought your home you were given a copy of the HOA rules. You must have read them since you signed a legal document saying that you understood there were CC&R's. Did you think that the rules should not apply to you? It doesn't matter if your neighbors mind or not..those rules are there for ALL of us. Trash cans left out deter from the neighborhood, maybe the perspective buyers of your home didn't like the look of the neighborhood....so thank YOU for decreaing the value of our home. ''Stinkies'' can be put in plastic bags with twist ties and then placed in the garbage can just as everyday garbage is and the smell will be enclosed in the bag.
As far as lack of playgrounds...did you not look at the map layout of the neighborhood BEFORE you bought your house or did you think that once you moved in you would be able to remove a house or two so that you would have it the way you wanted it?
I hope you do sell your house and move...next time READ what you are signing.
Thank you to our HOA for trying to protect the integrity of our neighborhood. Keep up the good work.

I take it that you have recently received a letter saying that you have violated a CC&R by leaving your trashcan in front of your gate rather than in the garage or in the backyard. HOW DARE THEY EXPECT YOU TO ABIDE BY THE CC&R's! This is the ''home of the free'' where your views and apparent ''rights'' are much more valid than mine, or anyone else who bought here AFTER learning that CC&R's were in place and enforced. We searched for CC&R's when we purchased to protect us from having to live in a neighborhood where people don't care what their homes look like. You and your neighbors may not care what the community looks like, but most of the folks who live here do. The HOA is a viable means of protecting this majority.
Your other issues about what you can or cannot do concerning your vehicle, and the fact that you will do what you want with a play-yard, are all addressed in the papers you signed when you purchased your house.
The playground equipment may not be the best, and some may be deteriorated, but think what it would be like if the association did not make efforts to maintain it. There may be insufficient numbers of equipment also, but what was here when you purchased was all there ever would be. Perhaps you can move to a community like Anthem when you sell your home. And speaking of which, have you taken a good look at why these buyers really did not want your home? I have to doubt very much that it has anything to do with the HOA. If it really did, then I am truly glad they didn't buy here. Perhaps the rules did turn them off to the area, I guess you should have read them as closely. Or perhaps they saw trashcans sitting in front yards, vehicles parked in the streets, and unapproved structures protruding over backyard walls. GET OFF IT! You didn't lose a sale because of an ''awful HOA''!
deteriorated playground

i am using your words exactly DETERIORATED PLAYGROUND. these are exactly the words a court of law needs to deem the common grounds UNSAFE and a health hazard. i will be launching a full investigation into this issue as well as others. thank you again for being such a good upstanding citizen and bringing these health hazards to our attention.
