I am a new mother and in need of excercise. I can't see taking a small child outside for a walk in the 100+ degree weather and was wondering if there are any walking groups established that go out after dark when it is a bit cooler.

I don't know of any established walking groups but I do know of several women who are interested in starting one. I am not sure where it is that you are located but reply to F3023@AOL.COM and we'll see if we can't put us all together.

You might also try contacting the info. desk at metro center. They used to have walking groups there, or as an alternative (and a good way to keep a new baby happy by constantly being in motion), walk the baby in a stroller around the mall during the day when the teenagers are SUPPOSED to be in school. You can walk at a comfortable pace and it's air conditioned. Congrats on the new baby!
