Our Neighborhood Streets

CLI,

I have raised my kids but I still consider my wife and I a family with just as much rights as any other in the community. I know what it was like to only have the street to play in when I was a kid. Neighborhoods are different today and we won't change that. The kids can ride their bikes, skate and play in the street. All I would like to see is more supervision by the parents and not having the kids brock the street. Perhaps our association should look at this problem and provide a place for the kids to do these things. We've got the land and it's only money.

I agree. My child and friends play out front often. OCCASIONALLY one of them may venture out into the street to get a ball or turn around on the bike.
I have to say it scares me to the death when they do that. I have never seen such inconsiderate drivers. There is NO reason what so ever to drive like a speeding bullet in this neighborhood. Obviously people are aware that the kids do venture into our streets (or this wouldn't even be a discussion), so why TRY to hit them. I know that I have personally witnessed people driving so fast around corners that they couldn't stop in time if they had to. That is ridiculous!!!! Like I said my child knows not to go into that street, but tell me of one child who listens all the time and never attempts to try his luck with mom and dad. Here is the deal, I will try everything I can as a good parent to keep my child out of the street, but for GOD SAKE, do your part and slow down.
