Attention HOA board SIDEWALKS

Posted in: Hickory Hills
What would it take to start installing sidewalks in this neighborhood?

There are so many kids and walkers out in our neighborhoods, that sidewalks would be a huge safety improvement in this neighborhood.

Sidewalks would also improve the appeal of our neighborhood.

Thank you

No thanks!

My yard is small enough as it is. If they put a sidewalk in the front, people would be 2 steps from my front door. The people in this neighborhood already have the ''your yard is my yard'' attitude. I don't need it to be further encouraged. Even if it doesn't go through my front yard, it would look bad. It should have been done when the driveways were done, like in Willoughby (sp?) Station.
I agree

I agree on the safety issue. There have been so many times when people are walking right along the curb, and people driving have not made efforts to move slightly out of the way. I don't have kids, but if I did I know this would be a big concern to me. I have two dogs, (I ALWAYS take a baggie with me by the way!) and I never feel safe walking both of them at the same time, due to the fact that I don't want them run over!

On the flip side, I also agree that some homes hardly have any room for a sidewalk. This would be a disservice to them as well.

We need to come up with some sort of happy medium. Even if it means putting sidewalks on the streets with the busier foot traffic.

Just a thought!

Thanks,
Belen
