Pierson Place Survey Report

In January 2005 the Historic Preservation Office conducted preliminary historical research and completed a field survey of properties in the Pierson Place neighborhood, between Camelback Road and The Grand Canal, from Central to 7th avenues. The neighborhood was determined to be historically and architecturally significant and is considered eligible for listing on the Phoenix Historic Property Register and National Register of Historic Places.

Pierson Place Historic District Neighborhood

Dear Neighbors and Business Owners,

Here we are at the beginning, and yet we have come a long way. We are at the beginning of not only a new year, but a new era. We are no longer the Central Village Neighborhood but, the Pierson Place Historic District Neighborhood, & YOU ARE A PART OF IT!
This is NOT a Homeowners Association! It is a NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION. The City of Phoenix is divided into Villages and the Villages are divided into Neighborhoods. This is how the individual can stay informed and give input to what is going on in the area in which they live and work. It is a wonderful system and why the City of Phoenix is known as “The best run City in the world”. EVERY person has a voice if they want one.

If you are interested in finding out more, you are very welcome here. Our neighborhood is very diverse. We have a lot of people that are active, compared to other Neighborhood Associations. We are strong and becoming stronger every day, but we want to hear from ALL of the people within our boundaries. We need to know how you feel about the issues affecting our Neighborhood and what ideas you have to better the place where you live and work.

Please come and meet your neighbors! Get to know their names and where they live. Find out who they are & where they came from. Find out what is going on and what areas we need help with.

People can contribute in many ways. Some people are able to donate their time, whether a little or a lot. Some donate their expertise in a specific area for a limited project. Some donate their experiences and wisdom. EVERYONE is unique and has something to offer, even if it is only support & encouragement.

YOU ARE IMPORTANT!

WHERE YOU LIVE & WORK IS IMPORTANT!

COMMUNITY IS IMPORTANT – BE A PART

Light Rail Volunteer needed

We need someone to represent the neighborhood on the Light Rail Citizen's Advisory Board for Line Section 1, which covers the area from Central Avenue to Spectrum Mall.

The board will meet monthly during construction of the rail, and the primary responsibility will be contractor oversight. The training session for this position is scheduled for Tuesday, December 6, from 3:00 to 5:00pm at the Valley Metro Rail Office, 411 N. Central.

Who is interested in doing this on behalf of our neighborhood? Reply to this email, or call us at 602-359-5095 if you are interested. Also, please tell your neighbors who don't get our email, and thanks. -Charley
