Work Done in Storm Water Retention Pond (and more)

 February 19, 2010

Back in November, the Board of Directors (through the Retention Pond Committee Chairperson) hired a certified landscaping contractor to do some vegetation removal and disposal work in the retention pond.  The work was required to meet the conditions of the Annual Report we received after an inspection by the New Castle County Department of Special Services.  PRMC paid $8,250 for the completion of that work.  Our next step is to hire another contractor, who is approved by Delaware's Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) to apply an approved herbicide to prevent as much re-growth of undesirable vegetation as is possible.

Also, we will be pursuing getting the shrubs and trees at the entranceways cut "way back."  The Landscaping Committee Chairperson will be in touch with qualified people to be sure this is done carefully, and at the correct time of year.

Updates related to this work will be posted here.

Please call any member of the Board if you have any questions.
