The Neighborhood Watch program is the cornerstone of all crime prevention programs. It enlists the active participation of citizens in cooperation with law enforcement to reduce burglaries and other neighborhood crimes. Its primary purpose is the protection of property - yours and your neighbors.
The job of a citizen in a neighborhood watch area is to be alert and to report any suspicious activity to the police. It is the responsibility of the police to APPREHEND the criminals. Yours is to REPORT the crime.
Our Neighborhood Watch was formed on March 2, 2004, and has conducted the necessary two meetings per calendar year, with at least 50% participation and is recognized by the City of Mesa.
Our Block Watch mission is to promote a friendly, safe, crime-free neighborhood by:
1.Inviting ALL members of the neighborhood, including local businesses and agencies, to the meetings.
2. Conducting a minimum of two Block Watch meetings per calendar year.
3. Providing contact information for Code Compliance, Graffiti, and Street Light Hotlines.
4. Publishing a neighborhood newsletter & Business Services Directory.
5. Creating a phone tree and web site for the neighborhood.
6. Reporting area crime statistics and tips on how to prevent in our area.
7. Building relationships by communicating with each other.
8. Welcoming new arrivals to our neighborhood.
