About This Group

The purpose of this group is to make the public aware of the need to replace what we have taken from nature, in order for all oxygen dependant life to survive in a healthy environment. I have created an entire new hobby for myself over the last 10 years just from being more aware of the need to clean the air around me, provide a natural private wall around our home and give back to the wild life who were here before me. By planting Leyland pines around our home, I have not only created a natural privacy fence but I have also created a means for proper shading for our home, homes for birds and their young, a mechanism to clean the air around me and much much more. I heard some time ago about the bumble bee's on endangered species list. This was quite alarming as we all know how much we all need them to pollinate and keep life going. Because of this, I took personal responsibility by planting 3 butterfly bushes on our little 1 acre property. Butterfly bushes are not just for butterflies but they also sustain hummingbirds and the MIGHTY BUMBLE BEE. When you purchase the butterfly bush, it most usually comes in the form of a single long stem or two with little flowerettes on the end that are pointed like a finger. Very pretty and they grow quite fast over about a 2 year span. Don't be deceived in thinking they are small plants though because they grow about 5 to 6 feet tall and spread out to about they same width. I have 2 on the fence line and one in the center of my front garden. Many fruit tree's are popping up all over my lawn and I love the thought of having fresh, organic home grown fruit to pick for myself, my family and my loved ones. I do believe that we all should start taking responsibility when possible to provide our own families with fresh fruits and veggies that are chemical free and have all the nutrients our bodies need. A variety of berries such as mulberry, strawberry and blackberry bushes also are scattered about of property along the back of our lawn. They will halp keep the birds and other wild life away from the front where most of our fruit tree's are is my personal hope.

I invite everyone to join my group and please add all information you have to help us all start our own lovely gardens, plants, tree's , bushes and all that we can do for ourselves in this new age of awareness on the importanst of becoming green. Please feel free to upload photos of your own projects and treasures. Together we can make parks in every neighborhood and even from our own lawns.
