I moved to Coyote Wash in 2005 and my Dish Network moved with me. I had what was called the Denver 5 TV channels & was able to keep that service for a little over a year. Then I was informed that I would no longer be able to have the channels, as some judge somewhere had decided they could no longer be my local channels. Apparently the local stations were worried about advertising dollars and thought if I saw an add on TV, (example: a pair of shoes) I would drive to Denver for them instead of Yuma. Really? The Denver 5 were my connection regarding any conditions to my family still living in Colorado. As well as having Dish Network I also had an outside antenna so I was able to receive the local Yuma stations. After this happened I switched to Direct TV because Direct told me that they could supply the Denver 5. However, that was incorrect and I was back with Dish.
So now, I come to my point. I am asking my neighbors for help because I believe you would benefit too. You live here and possibly have family elsewhere. I recently wrote a letter to Senator's McCain & Flake asking them to author a bill stating that every American has the right to watch any TV station they want, if it is available from their provider. I then sent the same letter to Dish Network requesting that they ask all of their subscribers to write their Senators for the same reason. I believe it would help their overhead (new customers) and help their existing customers too. So, if you would write to your Representatives we all may be able to stay in touch with what is going on in the part of the country where all relatives/friends live. Wouldn't that be nice? Thank you for your time.
