Still asking

In other words YOU don't have an answer.
What are YOU afraid of.Are you going to let people form their own opinions? It looks like you are not bold enough to answer this question. It doesn't matter who I am,I'm asking for the whole community.
Your Answer

I was at the Liberty Township meeting when I saw there would be changes to our entrance ways but did not know what the changes were going to be. I thought I should attend as I do with many other township meetings.

Let me first correct that this was 'voted down' because, in fact, it was not. The variance was broken into two separate variances during the meeting because the original variance would have been turned down as a whole due to the requests. Township law only permits two signs per main thoroughfare. The two signs at our main entrance (left and right) are considered two separate signs. The original sign was considered one sign even though it was two sided.

My opinion was that the signs should be approved at the main entrance, however, I was concerned about the nonuniformity of the signs between the two entrances as well as the close proximity(Big Bear and Farmington Avenue). They were going to put the old sign at Farmington.

My other concern was that people coming from East to West would have used Farmington as our main entrance and would see the commercialization on the right side as a negative. We were investing our monies into the main entrance and that would be our showcase entrance on Powell Road. Also, the BZA was considering only allowing ONE sign at Big Bear and one sign on Farmington due to the current zoning laws (only two signs permitted per main thoroughfare).

The result was - the entire application was going to be denied, so they split the application into two separate variances, granted one, and denied the other variance, which would be putting up a third sign that would not be uniform with the main entrance.

The final point I would like to make is I was not even aware they were spending homeowner money on the variance. If I had known, I would have informed them prior to asking for the variance about my knowledge on this issue.

Anybody who wishes to find out the issues that developed at that meeting may contact Liberty Township for the meeting minutes.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

CONCERNED ABOUT ATTACKS

I know both parties, and I am concerned about the tone in which Tammy is being attacked on this site. She is a very honest - upfront person and I think that she is actually getting bashed horribly by the opposition here. After reading this it seems like a couple of you are doing the attacking and I feel for her. Let's keep this clean. She has NEVER said anything negative about her opponet and it seems as if there is a group of you out there that are trying everything you can to control the neighborhood and what is done or not-done as well as the outcome of this election. This is not a political office she is running for, this is someone who is willing to take her time and experience to better the neighborhood.

I was at the last meeting and I sat back and watched what was going on. Tammy is correct, many people walked out, the trustees, Annette walked out strongly saying she didn't need this and her kids were at home and some of the people from the neighborhood left as well, but for those other observers on this site, I want to make a STRONG note that the meeting after they left went VERY smooth... Tammy NOT ONCE during the entire meeting raised her voice, and always raised her hand to speak and the trustees acknowledged her and then she spoke. Never out of turn.

Please lets stop the bashing and any POSITIVE comments would be welcome keep the negative ones to your self. Let's work as a team to make our neighborhood a better place to live!
