Dear Max and friends,

Mayor Doyle allowed the Pawtucket Police on Thursday January 14  to take all homeless off the streets as the police worked with homeless agencies to find shelter.  One question:  How deep-rooted is the homeless problem since the city became aware of the foreclosures as early as 2007?

I think this is a very deep rooted problem unfortunately with or without the foreclosures and requires some case management and supportive preventive services to alleviate their problems and higher costs of hospital and more expensive care. If we could just spend a few bucks for band aids and a first aid kit...we would not face the high police and fire and emergency care costs.

agreed...but that is really a trauma for some of these people to be husled inside...almost as bad as dying for some
