Prostitution

What's the answer?

We spend uncountable amounts of manpower and unfathomable amounts of dollars fighting the worlds oldest profession.  Prevention programs, rehabilitation programs, arrests, stay away orders, jail time, stings, "no prostitution zones", etc.  It assaults the morals of most, it brings crime, is often related to drug use, and violence, it is a draw on a citites economy on multiple levels and does nothing to support it.

It really doesn't matter what leads someone to be a prostitute or what leads someone to seek out one.  The profession and partakers have been around since the beginning of time-and guess what?  They are still around and going strong!  You can sweep the dirt on the floor, and even if you pick it up, you still have to dump it somewhere. 

After working fervently with law enforcement and neighbors to fight the prostitutes I saw in the area and then taking a short walk around my block and having 3 different johns approach me, I decided to do some research.  After hours of studying how to handle prostitution, the same answer came up all across the board (all acroos the US and abroad)-all this work just moves them around.  I found one answer, one that works.  It makes sense, it makes money, it supports the economy, it takes prostitution out of neighborhoods, it has so many benefits I can't even begin to list them all.  But I will save the details at this point in time. 

I have an opinion and logical resolution to the problem.  But I am deeply curious as to what others thoughts are on the matter, especially those who also have this issue in their neighborhoods.
