old Stores of W&.

When We Moved In

When we moved in our house, there was a little store on the corner of 6th and Vinewood. It was so easy to run up there to get milk and bread. I think it is sad these corner stores are gone now. Where I grew up we had a corner store with a soda fountain and a juke box. We would sit for hours sipping our nickle cokes and putting nickles in the juke box waiting for the boys to come in. They also had a big display of penny candy. Oh, what you could buy with a dime and a quarter made you feel rich. Lots of good memories. There is nothing like the corner store.

Well, there's still Jean & Bud's

One of the last Mom and Pop stores around. Bud still work's there....and he's still got that cigar in his mouth.
He used to let my kids (all the kids for that matter) come behind the counter to get their candy because they couldn't see over the top of the ice cream cooler...lol

The old places..

Corrigans on third and plum had THE BEST fries and gravy! The breaded veal was no slouch either!!
Spent a lot of time in Cramers bar too, lots of old school pals hung out there.

How about Koz's corner on tenth and northline? Spent part of my 21st birthday in there trying to down 21 blue flames. Didnt make it.
I spent the rest of the night at Bobs bar.

How about Indian lanes and Gary Greenes ''Wham bam thankyou maams'' They tasted so good that you didnt know you were ''paralyzed'' till you tried getting out of your seat!!

Come to think of it, I'm lucky to have survived the 70's...

Still thinkin of those biker chicks at jamestown... mmm mmm mmm...
