RMA Continues Online!

Apr 02, 2000

REGENCY MEADOW'S WEB SITE TURNS 6 MONTHS OLD!

The Internet continues to make it possible for you to easily and conveniently be informed and involved in our neighborhood.

Our neighborhood has had it's webpage now for six months. And its a free, interactive Web site where we can display our newsletter, notices, meeting schedules, and neighborhood issues, as well as direct links to our local schools, community police officers, and local government officials.

In addition to the features mentioned above, our Web site has an easy-to-use discussion area called "Talk About It" that enables all of us to exchange ideas, concerns and questions about neighborhood issues. Our Web site also has a notice board called "Post It Here" that lists upcoming meetings, events, and garage sales; a Meet Your Neighbor section that allows us to create (or hotlink) our personal Web pages; a free Classified Advertising section, and an Add-A-Page feature that makes it easy for anyone to prepare and post Web pages devoted to any topic of interest.

Again, our website going on its 6th Month of operations and the learning curve has been steep at times. We've had some good use of the Discussions site mostly. But I hope many of you have bookmarked/made favorite our webpage for future Visits. This service continues to develop as time goes by and by networking with other online neighborhoods in San Antonio and the nation, we can make this site useful. We hope that our Web site made learning more about our neighborhood can get you more actively involved by posting announcements and events and participating in its many interactive features. Again if our neighbors do not yet have Internet access at their home, then maybe at their office or local libraries have computers through which you can reach our site.

New features have been made available that RMA's committees can use to do their business. It can be found on our homepage off to the left titled Clubs & Organizations. This service can be for any group not necessarily RMA affiliated. Check it out and start your club or organization's home page, too.

Our Web site has been made available to us at no cost by Neighborhood Link and its corporate sponsors, who have created a place on the Internet where every neighborhood in our metro area (and others around the country) can have their own free, interactive Web sites. In fact I encourage you to surf other online communities using Neighborhoodlink to get a flavor of what is possible. I do want to mention that there are communities not yet registered and other with low activity. But surf the online communities and check out the many useful and interesting links.

For more information, suggestions or to help in our Web site's ongoing development, contact our Neighborhood Coordinator, Dardo Dela Cruz, at mtdcruz_rma@hotmail.com.
