--> RGMC & NEW CASTLE COUNTY PARTNERSHIP
Next Raven Glen Community Meeting
Please hold the date and time below open.
Date: April 26 @ 1:00 PM
Location: 142 Hawk Drive (Lanell Benson's house)
--> Raven Glen Main-tenance Corporation (RGMC) and New Castle County (NCC) are now working together to manage the Raven Glen community. No, it will not cost us a dime. NCC provides this service because it now understands that without their involve-ment maintenance corporations and civic association based on volunteerism only won?’t survive.
Therefore, effective May 1, NCC will take over the bulk of the administrative functions of RGMC. In their new role NCC will administer billing, collection of home-owner assessments and aggressively targeting non-paying homeowners via legal channels.
RGMC officers will work directly with NCC staff to identify other areas where their assistance can benefit the Raven Glen community.
Check to make sure we?’ve got your name on our paid homeowners list.
--> THANK YOU FOR PAYING YOUR '02 ASSESSMENTS
In our community, the RGMC staff has come to appreciate our neighbors who pay their homeowner assessments. Yes, some go beyond just writing their check annually.
They attend meetings to understand what is happening in our community and how their money is being spent. They create special teams like the Kids Crew Community Clean Up who help pick up litter in Raven Glen ?– which can amount to quite a bit of trash in the summer (thanks to the five ice cream truck that cruise in our development).
They provide snacks for volunteers who man our Mischief Night Patrol to ensure our community does not get vandalized. They provide lawn care assistance by cutting lawns and pulling weeds of the vacant properties. They volunteer to make copies and deliver flyers to help us keep RGMC?’s mailing cost down.
They take time off their jobs to go court to prosecute delinquent homeowners who refuse to pay their HOAs. And much, much more!
Look for our PAID in ?’02 Homeowners bulletin to see if your home address appears.
--> CRIME RISES WITH WARMER TEMPERATURES
It?’s a known fact with warmer temperatures crime rates increase. While we?’ve only experienced petty theft of items like lawn mowers, bikes and other toys, you need to be mindful of the items left in your backyard. Remember, lock down items of value. Consider installing a light with a motion detector to illuminate dark areas. Stay alert. In the spring and summer, Raven Glen gets a lot of pedestrian traffic from other neighbor-hoods, especially kids. You don?’t have to be a bully. Be considerate.
Simply make your presence known. Try turning on a light at an odd hour of the night, looking out your window, any time during the day or night and getting to know your neighbors and their kids. So, they can get to know and remain alert for you too.
--> PORTABLE BASKETBALL COURTS
Now that Spring is here, homeowners are once again concerned that the portable basketball courts and young people will become an issue. In fact, RGMC has already had a complaint. The noise, car dings, bad language, and attitudes were pretty bad a few years ago. We don?’t want to re-live these problems this year. If you have a court, please be considerate of your neighbor?’s property. Monitor your kids. When not in use, pull the court to the side of your property ?– which should limit its use by others when you are not at home.
RGMC is certainly open to entertaining the idea of adding a more perminate basketball court to the park. What do you think? Let us know.
--> WE'RE A NO SOLICITING COMMUNITY!
Are you tired of all the junk mail attached to your door or handrail? Annoyed with strangers banging on your door to sell their products or services? Well, DO SOMEHTING ABOUT IT! Call them to let them know that this type of ?“door-to-door?” solicitation is not welcomed in our community.
We realize every salesman is not a con-artist and every flyer does not always guarantee a million-dollar prize. By preventing solicitors into our community, we will have less paper blowing around the neighbor-hood and our children won?’t have to open the door to strangers. Remember to think safety first.
What do you need to do? Whenever you get a flyer or a solicitor comes by your house, politely inform them that we don?’t allow soliciting in our community and would appreciate it if they would not leave their materials on your door. If that does not work, legal actions are ALWAYS an option.
--> COMMUNITY CORNER: YOU ASK. WE INFORM.
Can I walk my dog in the Park? NO. The park is designated for children ?– not pets and their waste. Please refrain from walking your dog in the park.
Where can I walk my dog? Pets can relieve themselves on Wellington Drive (grassy area next to modular home dealer) or in the undeveloped land behind Canary Drive (behind office building).
Have a question or idea? If so, please write to: RGMC, POB 30164, Wilmington, DE 19805-7164 Also, be sure to check out our new web site at www.neighborhoodlink.com
