Last year during the drought the pond that borders my property on Cold Harbor Dr got pretty low. During that time a particular type of water plant started to take root. When the water level came back up, the plant expanded to cover roughly five percent of the water surface. This type of plant was also present in the other three ponds in the neighborhood. As of July 8, 2013 that plant has now covered more than thirty percent of the pond making it almost impossible to fish. As a professional fisherman, I do not mind the extra growth in vegetation. However, as almost everyone in the neighborhood is not a professional fisherman, it has made fishing in the best pond almost impossible. I have two small children who love to fish, but since they are six and three, all they seem to catch are tons of weeds. The pond I live on is one of the biggest reasons I purchased this home as it adds value to my home. Not being able fish in the pond as my family would like has been a pain as we now have to walk to another pond to fish. I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way. There are ways of removing this weed without hurting the ecosystem in the pond. I would respectfully request the removal of this plant to allow the residents of the community to enjoy the pond as we have for so many years. I would be more than happy to aid in information on how to deal with this plant if asked. Thanks
