Really??

Really?? Did a small group of possibly well meaning folks honestly believe that the good people of this community would really give a virtual blank check to possibly spend up to $352,633 (292,000 + 60,633) (literally every penny -- 362,774 as of June 30,2003-- that we possess) based on information on two sheets of paper with absolutely no opportunity to ask any questions whatsoever. Give me a break!! Questions like 1.) where do all the hundreds of ''suppossed customers'' park (no off street parking planned, right -- or would that just be a little ''add-on'' later on down the road? 2.) what happens when Gold Canyon is completed to Bulverde and becomes a four lane road with NO ''on street parking'' whatsoever,-- hey, we could ''pony up'' for a couple of shuttle buses maybe 3.) why wasn't the fact that annual memberships will also be ''required'' (stating how much those will cost)stated in the material (afraid it might scare off a few unsuspecting ''yes'' votes?). The list could go on and on. Fortunately, the MAJORITY of the good folks of this community can see what was being attempted and will have no part of it.

give me a break

Encino Park community has as many if not more homes in their association that we do. They have approximately 12-15 spots to park in front of their pool and park. Their pool is on a MAJOR street that connects three schools. We have approx. 5-6 spots to park at for a park and a basketball court that is used for EVERYONE this side of town (or the other side also). We have neighborhood streets that are directly across from the park area that are used everytime we have a gathering at the park. When we have gatherings at the park which bring in hundreds of people at a time, the parking doesn't seem to be an issue then. The pool is used at different times by different families. There would probably not even be the same influx at one time that a homeowner's meeting and BBQ brings. Also, I feel that those homeowner's who are for the pool would have no problem paying extra per year for it. For those of us who want to swim during the summer, we already pay extra to go elsewhere to swim.

I am also hoping that all of the GOOD FOLKs in the community will see that a $300,000.00 fence will also need upkeep. Not everyone benefits!
