Missed the point
I'm sure that those posting the locations for swim club memberships are trying to be helpful, and I appreciate the information.
But some may miss the point. The real issue is that when I go to sell my home, my home will not sell as quickly (or I will have to take less money), because our community doesn't have a pool, and most of the other communities in this area have a pool. Thus, we are the poor shoeless children. This may sound snobish, but I think we are already seeing a change in the quality of people moving into the neighborhood as I see more cars on blocks and lawns that are not mowed.
Yes, I could build a pool in my backyard, but many people want a neighborhood pool for the feeling of a neighborhood. We really don't have a neighborhood that works or plays together. If you don't believe me, just ask the opinion of other families at school or ask a local realtor.
