While I basicly agree that tax money should not be used on private property the beautification committee is dealing with a real problem of the loss of shade trees over our streets. People were not replacing the canopy trees that kept our streets cooler in the summer. That tornado four years ago took out 20 trees at one time. The really good thing they are doing is taking down those ugly "Y" shaped trees along Shelbville road. It looks better already.

There are pros and cons to this issue my friend.

There are pros and cons on all issues.  Some are just more valid than others.  Those trees along Shelbyville Road on in the Metro right of way along a state road.  Why should Bellemeade have to assume their responsibility.

I do agree that the "goalpost trees" were UGLY and needed to go.

Henry you are right; we need to get the City Commission to look at our safety concerns, but I bet someone will say we are negative because we asked.
