On July 12, 2003, the City of Charlotte?’s Code Enforcement Div. partnered with 4 area neighborhoods to conduct neighborhood clean ups. This community project provided residents the opportunity to dispose of unwanted items stored in garages, storage sheds and back yards. This allowed residents to by-pass the normal process of calling to schedule for the pick up of bulky items.
The participation on the part of residents and other stakeholders was great! A group from the Revelation Pentecostal Holiness Church was on hand to assist some of our senior citizens with getting items to the curb for pick up. This was truly an example of a neighborhood working together.
