  • Respect-O-Meter: Respected Neighbor

I knew as well as the neighbors I know knew about the meeting. I cannot remember if it was in the newsletter, posted on this site or in the proxy statement everyone received. There are no secret agendas or conspiracies, the board is doing the best it can with the monies and participation from those that attend. If you want to live in a decent neighborhood, then you (and all of us) need to pay the dues required and attend the meetings.

Hopefully next year everyone will be certain then the meeting (s) will be and a lot more people will become involved. I think peoples eyes will be opened when they see where the money goes...it's all good (to quote the Reverand Al).

As for the dogs, well consider the source, anyone that lets their dogs bother their neighbors need to move to a trailer park and park their car on their lawn.

People that don'r pay their dues? SHUN them and stare at them

4-wheelers? Call da cops !

Well, the meeting date was not posted in the newsletter.  There was a small mention that HOA meeting to be determined.  As far as posting it on this forum, I was the one that brought it up and you (fred) responded 3-4 hours prior to the actual meeting.  I appreciated your response but unfortunately,  did not see that post until a day after the meeting.  IF we gotten a notice, we would've made plans to attend or sent a proxy vote.  We have attended EVERY HOA meeting since moving here.  I have continued to ask around and many of my neighbors did not get their notice.  Some of those neighbors have also been faithful in attending every HOA meeting since they moved in.   It should be noted that they were not aware there had been a meeting until I told them.

I would like to comment on the dues but until I see an actual bill or statement, I'll hold my thoughts.  However, $100-$200 seems excessive......if that is really what they were raised to.

Now about the dogs.........I went back through the forum and looked at some of the posts.  Fred, you mentioned back on September 7th that we could do something and to bring it up at the HOA meeting.  I responded with a post that had a list of questions about what we must do prior to the meeting so that it could be listed on the agenda and given an opportunity to be voted on.  Nobody replied back.  How bad does the barking need to get before we are going to take this issue seriously????

The ATVs aren't all that loud but it's definately a safety issue.  They zoom around so fast that it really is hard to tell who they are.  If someone was to call the Sheriff's Dept., by the time they got out here, the ATV would be long gone!

This is all very frustrating!

and another thing.....................

Why didn't a someone (board member) place a notice or signs at the entrances like they had in previous years?

Poster board costs approximately 50 cents and a marker is $1-2.  So, for under $5.00 this would've been read by all residents leaving or entering our subdivision.  That's surely cheaper than sending out notices in the mail.

Best I can tell, people in our neighborhood are not kicking down doors to be part of or on the HOA board. I'm glad that we do have a few among us that can take on this extra work.

I think that your suggestion is a good one...Simple...Easy...Like anyone could do it or could have done it on their own. Yes, it's best to leave these things up others or  "someone".
